Kindergarten Class 2026-2027

Welcome to the Kindergarten Class, a joyful and nurturing environment where young learners begin their educational journey. Your child will be well prepared for first grade. All TEKS (Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills) will be taught in an intimate classroom setting designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and a love for learning through play-based and hands-on experiences.

Class Philosophy

Our Kindergarten program focuses on the holistic development of each child—intellectually, socially, emotionally, and physically. The goal is to create a safe and supportive space where children want to go to school to gain knowledge, express themselves, and build foundational skills for lifelong learning.

Curriculum Overview

  • Language and Literacy: Storytelling, phonics, letter recognition, and early writing activities to develop communication skills.

  • Mathematics: Counting, shapes, patterns, and problem-solving through games and manipulatives.

  • Science and Discovery: Exploring nature, simple experiments, and observation to encourage curiosity about the world.

  • Creative Arts: Drawing, painting, music, and movement to foster imagination and self-expression.

  • Social Studies: Learning about community, family, and cultural diversity to build empathy and understanding.

  • Physical Development: Outdoor play, fine motor activities, and movement exercises to promote coordination and health.

Daily Routine

A balanced schedule includes circle time, learning centers, outdoor play, snack breaks, and quiet reflection. Each day blends structured learning with free exploration to support both independence and collaboration.

Classroom Environment

The classroom is bright, colorful, and organized into learning zones—reading corners, art stations, building areas, and sensory tables. Every space is designed to inspire curiosity and encourage active participation.

Teacher’s Role

The teacher acts as a guide and facilitator, observing each child’s interests and providing opportunities for growth. Through encouragement and positive reinforcement, children develop confidence and a sense of belonging. Not only will students learn the concepts but will apply that knowledge in real world experiences.

Family Involvement

Families are valued partners in the learning process. Regular communication, classroom visits, and family events strengthen the connection between home and school, ensuring a supportive learning community.

Conclusion

The Kindergarten Class is the foundation for a lifelong love of learning. Through exploration, creativity, and care, children develop the skills and confidence needed to thrive in school and beyond.
